Always and Never with Procession - An Interview

***** Interview with Procession *****

Q. When did Procession started, tell us about the history...
Procession started in 2008 in Grand Rapids,Michigan. Britty and graham decided to start a band and had Zach and josh play bass and drums. The band parted ways with josh and I started playing drums for them in 2011.

Q: Who are your influences?
Influences lyrically and personal relationships and veganism. Musically it's be all the first wave shoegaze style bands like my bloody valentine and slowdive. More modern stuff would be asobi seksu, whirr, wild nothing

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
5 albums of all time is too hard. I'll give you 5 bands I've listened to in the last week. One king down, black sabbath, the cure, afi covering the cure and bilinda butchers

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Playing live is cool, we haven't played live in over 2 years I believe. We all live in different places now( Boston, new York, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids) so we aren't very active anymore. We did 2 east coast tours , one of which we did your journals for that are on YouTube. Look up procession tour promo. There are 5 parts

Q. How do you describe Procession sounds?
Procession is a pop shoegaze band. Not full blown wall of sound style shoegaze and not a straight forward pop rock band but somewhere in between

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
Last time procession recorded was 2 years ago. Zach and graham came from New York and Grand Rapids to Boston and recorded 4 songs with me in my apartment. We practiced them at the end of the previous tour so we pretty much had them down already. Then we sent them to Britty cause she is busy with school, she did her part and then Zach did his vocals back home in Grand Rapids. It took us about 6 months to finish it all and now it's sitting on a computer somewhere cause my old roommate hasn't mixed/mastered it. Maybe one day it will finally come out as a 7 inch or something.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
New bands of similar style would be whirr, nothing, wild nothing, bilinda butchers, pity sex (brittys other band) other bands in general true love, Zachs other band ruined

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
We have covered the cranberries so that is my anwser

Q: What´s the plans for future....
No plans for the future, maybe one day this record will come out, maybe we will play a show, only time will tell

Q: Any parting words?
Parting words: fight the future
